Autumn 2 - The Great Plague

In this topic, we:

  • read Pied Piper of Hamelin and wrote our own stories about animals infesting our school
  • learnt sketching and shading techniques and drew rats
  • created dances to represent events from the plague
  • used sources to answer the questions
    • what was London like in 1665?
    • what was the plague and why was it a problem?
    • why did the plague spread so quickly?
    • How many people were killed by the plague and how do we know?
    • Did the plague spread outside London?
    • How did people cope with having to live with dying relatives?
    • How did people try to treat or prevent the curse?
