GARDENING
In March, we prepared our raised beds for planting our vegetable seeds. We also planted sunflower seeds in our own pots to see who can grow the tallest sunflower. Keep checking back here to see our progress!
SCIENCE WEEK
This year, for our whole school science week, we entered a competition called 'If you were an engineer, what would you do?'
As part of this, we interviewed two local engineers to find out about their jobs and how they solve problems. We then designed our own inventions to overcome a real-life problem, created annotated drawings of them and wrote persuasive letters to convince the Primary Engineer Team why they should choose our designs.
As well as entering the main competition, we had our own in-school competition, judged by engineers from Mott MacDonald and Spiroflow - well done to Scarlett from Y4 for being one of the KS2 winners!
MACMILLAN COFFEE AFTERNOON
We took part in the Macmillan Coffee morning event again this year. Year Four, with the help of Mrs Pilkington and Mrs Walker, baked and baked! We made enough cakes and traybakes to feed the entire school in return for their donations to Macmillan.
In addition, we served drinks and cakes to our visitors during our coffee afternoon.
Altogether, we raised £385.85 :)
